For non-EU students, the university offers a limited number of Danish State Scholarships (Danish Government Scholarships). The university’s scholarships are funded by the Danish Government (Danish State). Aarhus University does not have its own funding for scholarships, which is why it relies solely on funding offered by the Danish State for this purpose.

The application procedure for the scholarships is simple. By the time the eligible applicants apply to Aarhus University, the university considers them automatically for Danish State Scholarships. There is no need to submit a separate scholarship application. If the applicants submit their applications by the specified closing date, the university will assess them for a scholarship automatically.

General Selection Procedure

The university will prioritize the applicants who have outstanding academic qualifications. Since the university has a limited number of scholarships, it is unable to offer scholarships to all highly qualified, exceptional applicants. Typically, only one or two scholarships are conferred for each of its master’s degree programs. At some faculties, the university may put a strategic focus on chosen degree programs or applicants from specific countries.

Note: Those who are chosen for a scholarship will be provided with a scholarship offer together with their offer letter (admission letter) in the application system. It must be noted that there will be a very short, limited time (deadline) to accept their possible tuition waiver/scholarship offer.

If the candidates’ applications are not chosen for the scholarships, they will be provided with a tuition fee notification instead. EU/EEA/Swiss students are not entitled to apply for these scholarships at Aarhus University.
