Details Regarding CORAF Doctoral Thesis PhD Scholarships
Applicants who are interested in applying have to be enrolled in one of the universities in CORAF member countries. CORAF recommends co-supervision of successful students. Therefore, the successful candidates will be supervised by professors from the universities where they are enrolled. Successful students will report to the CORAF Executive Secretariat administratively, and to their supervisors (university and research center) technically/academically. For the fieldwork, the students will be deployed in one of the research centers of NARS, with possible travel to other countries of CORAF.

Eligibility Criteria for CORAF PhD Scholarships 2025
Interested candidates are required to meet the following requirements if they would like to apply.
- They should be the nationals of one of the member countries of CORAF
- Their age must be a maximum of 40 years
- They should hold a research Master’s degree related to the selected field and theme
- They need to provide a written and signed agreement from their academic supervisor(s)
- Applicants have shown capacity in applied research, think across professions and disciplines, and are willing to learn
- They have shown their interest in agricultural research for development
- Applicants must be proficient in both reading and writing in either English or French. A good working knowledge of any other language would be an extra asset
- They should be equipped with the skills to work in a multicultural environment
- They should possess exceptional communication skills
Financial Benefits Under CORAF Scholarships 2025
Successful candidates will receive the following coverage:
- Subsistence allowance per month
- Registration and laboratory fees
- Field expenses, including travel, surveys, or labor related to research activities, acquisition of consumables, and small research equipment
- International travel costs to participate in scientific stays and conferences
