Requirements (Eligibility Criteria)

For those who have a passion for studying in the Netherlands and whose study goal is to get a Master’s degree, this opportunity is a true fit. To apply for this scholarship, they need to meet the requirements mentioned below.

Non-EEA (Non-Economic European Area) students are eligible.
If you want to apply for the scholarship, you have applied or been admitted to one of the Erasmus MC research master programs.
Your academic career (study results) needs to be exceptional and you should be strongly motivated to begin the program.
According to Erasmus MC’s standards, you should be considered to be a high-achieving student.
You do not have the finances to fund your studies yourself.
You have not obtained a diploma from an educational institution/university in the Netherlands.
Besides, you have never been enrolled as a full-degree student at a university or an educational institution in the Netherlands.
Once you have been conferred a scholarship, you will then have to reside in the Netherlands to open a bank account (Dutch bank account) to receive your scholarship. It is worth noting that opening a bank account in the Netherlands often takes a bit of time, therefore, you need to have enough funds available to cover your first month’s expenses.

Available Grant (Financial Benefits)

As a scholarship awardee, you will receive €15000 to subsidize your living expenses and a waiver of the non-EEA institutional fee (the statutory fee that needs to be paid by the student). The students will receive the grant in monthly installments (the first month will be €2350, following months will be €1150). You need to be aware that the scholarship will be granted for one year. It will be continued for the second year provided that you complete your first year successfully.

Deadline for Application Submission

You can submit your application for the scholarship until 15^th April 2024. If you are awarded the scholarship, you will be informed via email by the end of May 2024.

Interested students can apply for the scholarship by sending a letter of motivation, resume/CV in addition to a grades list, and a budget plan in one PDF file to the email: internationaloffice@erasmusmc.nl. The file name should be like <Student number, Last Name, First Name (name of research master).pdf. Remember, the budget plan needs to consist of an overview of all (expected) expenses and income.
