Eligibility Criteria for the Foundation Academic Scholarships

Be an overseas (international) student holding a valid student visa or plan to apply for a study (student) visa before the start of the study program
Possess an existing offer letter (full or conditional offer) and be a commencing student in either semester one or semester two in the 2026 intake in any stream of the foundation studies program
Submit EOI (Expression of Interest)
Not be an existing foundation studies student

Value and Duration of the Scholarship

The total value of the RMIT University Foundation Academic Scholarships is AU$5,000. It will be a one-off payment towards future tuition fees that is paid after the first census date into the university account of the student.

As far as the total number of scholarships is concerned, which are to be offered to successful students, there are 40 scholarships for the 2026 academic year.

Terms and Conditions

Only tuition fees are applicable for the scholarship, and it is not refundable
The scholarship is only applicable for the duration as stated in the student’s initial offer letter and is available to eligible program(s)
Those who have an ELICOS packaged offer could be eligible for the scholarship. Therefore, they need to start the eligible program in 2026
Once awarded, the students will not be able to defer the scholarship to another intake/year. It has to be used for the intake for which the students have been offered it.
Based on academic merit, the scholarship selection will be done
Those applications that are successful will be notified. Unsuccessful applicants will not be informed
Recipients of the scholarship should not receive any other government-funded sponsorship or external scholarships covering tuition fees.
Those who are conferred/awarded the English to Foundation Studies Pathway Bursary are eligible for this scholarship program
Until exhausted, the scholarship will be offered on a rolling basis
