Policies for General Scholarships, Grants, and Awards

  • All grants, scholarships, and awards will be at the discretion of the committee and could be withdrawn or amended without any prior notice.
  • In any given intake, each grant and scholarship could be offered to a limited number of qualifying students.
  • All awards and scholarships will be applicable based on pro rata.
  • It is to be noted that scores gained (obtained) in national pre-medical examinations like NEET, MCAT, etc. might be considered for awarding scholarships as well.
  • If a scholarship or grant awardee leaves the institution prior to the completion of the MD program, his or her eligibility for the scholarship will no longer be active (he or she becomes ineligible for the scholarship) and then will have to deposit full fees for the duration of his/her study at the American University of Barbados.
  • Remember, all grants, scholarships, and awards are subject to verification of the documents submitted and could be revoked if supporting credentials/documents are found to be fake or forged.
  • Students who are scholarship or grant awardees are expected to maintain consistent academic performance and passing grades in all of their subjects throughout the duration of their studies till the completion of their MD program to retain the grants or scholarships.
  • The committee will calculate the eligibility on an undergraduate GPA on a 4-point scale.
