Eligibility Standards for Slovakia scholarship 2022

You need to show your eligibility if you like to avail this great opportunity offered by Slovakian Government. Let’s find out eligibility standards below:

All international students are eligible except the nationals of Slovakia.
The scholarship opportunity provides three categories for which the applicants can apply. Let’s check them out as under:

Applicants who are:

The students of universities outside Slovakia.

The students of the second level of higher education (such as Master’s), or

Those who have already earned minimum 2.5 years of their university study (in the same study program) at the time of application deadline.

PhD Students

Whose scientific training or higher level of education happens outside Slovakia, and who have been accepted by any private, public or state university or any research institution located in Slovakia. They are eligible to conduct a doctoral study programme (such as the Slovak Academy of Sciences) for an academic mobility to conduct/study research/artistic stay in Slovakia.

Researchers, International University Teachers and Artists

Those who have been invited for a research/teaching/artistic stay in Slovakia by an institution in Slovakia with a valid certificate of eligibility to conduct research and development, that is not a (business) company and its has seat in the country (Slovakia).

Duration of the Scholarship

The scholarship opportunity carries duration, which you need to put into your mind when you apply for this opportunity. Duration of the scholarships is mentioned hereunder:

Scholarship Stay Duration (Students): 1 to 2 full semesters (such as 4 to5 or 9 to 10 months) or full 1 to 3 trimesters, in case the academic year of the students is divided into trimesters (for example 3 to 4 or 6 to 7 or 9 to 10 months).
Scholarship Stay Duration for PhD Students: 1 to 10 months.
Scholarship Stay Duration for Researchers, University Teachers or Artists: 2 to 10 months.

Financial Benefits

The scholarship holders will receive attractive financial benefits. Under NSP, the selected students will receive living expenditures (expenses related to staying in Slovakia such as accommodation and food, etc.) during their research/artistic or teaching stay in research organization and at universities in Slovakia.

The holders of the scholarships may also request for assistance related to accommodation and formalities concerning about entering and staying in the country either to their host institution, or themselves. They will also receive monthly stipend of:

Student of University of the Second Level of Higher Education: 400 €
PhD Student: 734€
University Teacher/Researcher/Artist:
Those who are without PhD degree (or its equivalent) and simultaneously have less than 4 years of work experience as a researcher/university teacher/artist: 734€
Those who are with PhD degree (or its equivalent) and simultaneously have lesser than 10 years of work experience as a researcher/university teacher/artist: 980€
Those who possess PhD degree (or its equivalent) and simultaneously have more than 10 years of work experience as a researcher/university teacher/artist: 1050€

Note: In addition to the above, both students and PhD students may also be conferred with a travel allowance (travel grant), if they submit their application for the same together with their application for scholarship.

This allowance of travel will be provided as a lump sum. Besides, it will be provided to the students at the end of their stay coupled with the last payment of the scholarship. The amount of travel will depend on the distance between the student’s place of residence and the place of student’s stay in Slovakia. Distance up to 350 kilometers: 0 €
Distance above 350 kilometers, maximum 2000 kilometers: 250 €
Distance above 2000 kilometers, maximum 7000 kilometers: 500 €
Distance above 7000 kilometers: 1000 €
