The Novo Nordisk Foundation is an independent foundation of Denmark with corporate interests. It has two objectives:

  1. Providing a stable basis for the research and commercial activities of the companies in the Novo Group namely Novozymes A/S and Novo Nordisk A/S.
  2. Providing support to humanitarian, scientific and social causes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant has to be a principal investigator with an independent research group which he or she has directed for lesser than seven years in total.
  • The applicant has to be employed as a scientist anywhere in the world, but outside of Denmark.
  • He or she has any nationality.
  • During the application procedure, the applicant could not have or possess an employed position in Denmark.
  • There is no restriction about the host institution, as it could be located anywhere in Denmark, and has to be a public research institution, university, university hospital or other non-profit organization.
  • The applicant has to be employed, if conferred with this opportunity, at the host institution. He or she must be employed at a level of minimum 80r% of a full-time position at the institution.

Funding Facility/Financial Benefits

The successful applicants will receive funding facility for their research program. Following is the detail about the financial benefits associated with this opportunity.

  • In year 2023, up to 4 NNF Young Investigator Awards will be awarded.
