Students should maintain full-time status and they are expected to continue registration until the completion of all requirements. As far as the duration of the study programs is concerned, the M.S. program takes 2 years to complete and a Ph.D. degree takes 4 years for completion. The maximum completion times for the M.S. and Ph.D. are 3 and 7 years and M.S./Ph.D. degrees are 8 years.

GIST is undoubtedly among the best and higher-ranked universities in South Korea. Getting on board will be a prestigious opportunity for you. If successful in obtaining a scholarship, you will receive the fully-funded opportunity. The following benefits are what you will get coverage for:
Tuition Assistance (For All Students) – You will get tuition fully supported: 3,415,000 won per semester.
Note: For all newly admitted students who are enrolled at the university, a one-time matriculation fee of 680,000 won will be charged.
Monthly Stipends (For All International Students) – Students will be provided with a student allowance which will be 140,000 won per month for M.S. students and 295,000 won per month for the students of Ph.D. programs.
A meal allowance of approximately 100,000 won per month will be provided.
Note: For both student and meal allowances, students should have completed a minimum of 9 credits in their previous semester.
An international student allowance of 120,000 won per month will be offered. For this, a GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.5) is required in the previous semester.
Research Assistantship (For All Students Participating in Research Projects) – Students will be offered 5,461,249 won per year for M.S. and 12,513,688 won per year for Ph.D. programs.
Health Insurance (For All International Students) – Students will be supported with 60% of National Health Insurance. An annual medical checkup will also be provided.
Flight Reimbursement (Travel Expenses) for All Incoming International Students – A one-way flight to South Korea will be reimbursed for first-time use only.
